... and the Winner is....
Well, all the entries in the Marble Challenge were just INCREDIBLE! Everyone should be SO proud of themselves!!! Drum roll please...
The First Place, Over-all favorite Piece
"The Mosaic Marble Run is constructed over three large plant pots glued one on top of the other and then covered in ferrocement and mosaics... there are exactly 237 marbles of all colors of the rainbow all along the edges of the run. It measures about 24 inches tall, about 24 inches in diameter at the widest point and weighs a ton (i.e. about 130 Pounds)."
Second Place
Hand blown glass marbles (thanks to Terri Thompson) used for the eye, flower centers, and tail. Other materials used: hand cut china - some tumbled, ceramic tile, stained glass, sheet music under clear glass (Frances likes to sing), glass beads, and vintage jewelry. All on a reclaimed cabinet door.
Congratulations again to everyone! - and thank you to Tiny Tiles for awarding our first place winner with a gift certificate to such an amazing shop!
